So what is fiber? Fiber is a virtually indigestible substance that is found mainly in the outer layers of plants. Fiber is a special type of carbohydrate that passes through the human digestive system virtually unchanged, without being broken down into nutrients. Carbohydrates constitute the main source of energy for all body functions.
A nice to know fact: Only plants produce fiber..ok didn't know that. now there are two forms of it..Insoluble fiber & soluble fiber. Yeah ok. Um now what do they mean? Insoluble fiber is mainly made up of plant cell walls, and it cannot be dissolved in water. It has a good laxative action. And then Soluble fiber is made up of polysaccharides (carbohydrates that contain three or more molecules of simple carbohydrates), and it does dissolve in water. It has a beneficial effect on body chemistry, such as lowering blood cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
Any way past that mumbo jumbo info..it comes down to what I should be eating. (Not that this isnt mumbo jumbo too.) I also got the list of Fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber from a website. So hope their right..cuz I am trustin em. Any way, include: Apples..I like Beans..I can do with Mexican food Berries...are expensive Broccoli...I like Brussels sprouts...I l ove. Carrots..hard to eat. but once I eat one they are so yummy and I keep eating them! Actually I should eat some now but don't feel like it. (I should eat some lunch) Cauliflower...Is so good in this meal I ate in Germany. I should email the fam for the recipe again. I have already have them email it to me before. Obviously dont have it anymore. Figs..hugh? Oranges..juicy Pears..only a certain pear I ate in Germany. hmm, wonder what the difference is? Peas & Prunes i can do. Here are other good sources of fiber: Bran muffins..a mouth full! Brown rice..I aint predjudice. Multi-grain cereals..do they have marshmallows in em? Oatmeal...Done Popcorn..PoP. Whole-wheat...always. Ok not always.
Now that that is out of the way. does everyone understand fiber?
Now that I do (Thanks Tiff for suggesting) I will start applying it into my life!
So, I started my day off ok. I ate some oatmeal. had some coffee. ( I know Fam..we don't like coffee) Went for a walk with Ty. came home...and I worked out!!! Yeah! I did the workout I said I would try! (I am so lame I know) Now I couldn't do all the reps..It was tough! But over time I should be getting it down and hopefully complete all the reps required, and then some cuz it feels good! yeah right feels good! Well it does feel good but getting there doesn't feel good. well I guess I am wrong again. I think it feels good to feel my muscles being used. LOL I don't have anything to strenuous to lift or do in my daily life style..and since I have my own muscle man now...he comes when needed after! He is the MAN! He moves the heavy things i need moved..(I use to be able to do it all on my own..but enjoy watching my man being my muscle Man) I guess I better start relying on my own strength again.
I was having a hard time getting started. right as I got everything set up to get working out. and put the work out video right in front of me so I felt I was doing the work out right. (my previous excuse was i didn't know if I was doing them right). Then my friend from Germany had messaged me! It was Carolin! My BF from Germany! It was wonderful to talk to her..Maybe an hour later she had to go to bed and Matt called to let me know he was coming home! Alright! Now, back to starting the work out! GOSH why is is so intimidating to work out for me! UGH, anyways I did as many reps as I could and moved on! We will keep the # of reps i did to my self..lol. Hey, I at least tried right?
Now I am writing letting my blog know I did the workout like I said I would do! Like Matt said "Its like a band aid. ya just gotta rip it off and once ripped of..hey that wasn't so bad!" or like he always says to me.. Matt: " How do you eat and Elephant" Me: "you don't" Matt: You eat it one bite at a time!"
So I just have to incorporate a healthy life style one thing at a time! And today I did 3 thing so far! 1-I ate oatmeal for breakfast. even though i could only choke down 5 big bites!
2-Brought my dog for a walk...45 min outside was wonderful and refreshing! And Ty loves me more for it! 3- I tried the work out! I broke a sweat and tried every work out shown. I couldn't finish the reps...or do a lot of a couple of em..well I couldn't finish a a full rep on each one! Hey...That's OK though. that is what I am challenging my self to do..Build strength and muscles...and to become lean and happy!
It wont be over night but a lifetime goal! And I am on my way to becoming a healthier person! Oh I forgot to eat lunch and also snack on something healthy after the workout! I will work on that to! ;) Maybe I should go look for some more Fiber to eat!!! LOL

way to go heather! I need to get back on my regimen as well wish we lived closer so we could do it together. You can make oatmeal yummy with walnuts and raisins and cinnamon and a little nutmeg... anywho, we eat oatmeal alot. Love ya!
